The Moon Lab: Workshops

Welcome to The Moon Lab…

What’s behind the name? The moon is a symbol that represents our emotions, dreams and the unconscious mind (or, as we say in gestalt, things out of awareness). However, what we experience on the surface doesn’t always reflect what’s going on underneath, the vast depths of our potential.

I run a variety of online (and sometimes, in-person) workshops throughout the year, usually themed around dreams, lucid dreaming, mindfulness, journalling or poetry therapy.

In addition to being a gestalt psychotherapist, I’m also a qualified mindfulness teacher and undergoing the final stages of accreditation to become a Certified Poetry Therapist (CPT).

I’m fully insured and a student member operating under the governing body of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) for gestalt psychotherapy. I also adhere to the guidance from the Mindfulness Association (mindfulness) and the International Federation of Biblio Poetry Therapy and Lapidus (poetry therapy).

Unfortunately, I cannot currently offer these workshops to psychotherapy clients I am actively working with, due to professional boundaries and the ethical framework I adhere to.

Poetry Therapy

For those who love to write, or simply for anyone who feels drawn to journaling or creative writing for self-growth, I host writing for wellbeing workshops. Using various forms, including poetry, as a way to tune in and use the page to explore, process and heal your inner world.

Dream Work

Either working on a 1:1 basis or within a workshop setting, learn how to use your dreams for self-growth. I teach ways to use lucid dreaming, and different sleep states, to support and improve your wellbeing. The lucid state is a refined and powerful state of consciousness you can harness while you sleep.

Mindfulness

I offer 1:1, group + corporate mindfulness sessions. Mindfulness is a compelling approach for reducing stress, anxiety, anger, substance abuse and trauma. Research shows that meditation results in significant physical and mental health benefits after as little as eight weeks of daily practice.

Summer Solstice Workshop: What Emerges in the Light

Summer Solstice (Northern Hemisphere); Sunday 21st June 2026 (6-8pm) (£30)

A midsummer gathering exploring the height of things: abundance, aliveness, and expansion; connection (to self, others, nature); light as both celebration and exposure; honouring what is in full bloom… and what is ripening.

Inspired by pagan/seasonal traditions of fire, fertility, community, ritual and the turning point of the year (light at its peak, subtly beginning to wane).

As it is also Father’s Day this summer solstice, it’s also an opportunity to celebrate masculine energy or the parts of us that acts, decides, moves forward into the world.
This is a ‘poetry therapy workshop’ rather than a ‘poetry workshop geared up to literary accomplishment’. It doesn’t mean you won’t create poetry as part of your outcome but the main goal is to explore your emotional response at this time of year. It’s therefore more of a cathartic exploration, with the bonus of poetic outputs!

We will include some rituals as part of this workshop incorporating flowers and light (candle) so that we can create a personal flower garland to symbolise our intentions. We will also create a ‘sun letter’ as a way to reflect on your inner light and what abundance you would like to take forward with you into the months ahead.
NB: Summer Solstice occurs at 9.24am (BST) on 21 June.
(For the USA: Summer Solstice falls between 1am-4am on 20th June, depending on time zone.)

Workshop Goals
• To help you connect with the energy of midsummer and what is flourishing in your life
• To explore both the visible and hidden aspects of “abundance”
• To use poetry and writing to celebrate, reflect, and gently integrate
• To create a sense of shared ritual and community

At the height of summer, when the days stretch long and the light lingers, we arrive at a natural threshold, a moment of fullness, aliveness, and quiet turning. This midsummer workshop invites you to pause within that brightness and explore what is currently in bloom in your life.

Drawing on seasonal, pagan themes of abundance, connection, and celebration, we’ll use poetry and guided writing to honour what is flourishing, and gently reflect on what may feel overgrown or ready to be released.

Through a combination of shared poems, reflective prompts and creative exercises, you’ll be invited to connect with your inner landscape in a way that feels both expansive and grounding. Together, we’ll explore the energy of midsummer as a time for gathering, both in community and within ourselves, culminating in a simple, meaningful closing ritual to mark the season.

You don’t need to be a poet or have any writing experience, just bring your curiosity, a notebook, and a willingness to listen to what is unfolding within you. You may leave with a piece of writing to treasure, a renewed sense of connection, or simply a quieter, more spacious relationship to this luminous time of year.

Pre-Workshop Invitation:

Bring a pen, note book, some loose paper (to make some small scrolls), some flowers (to make a flower garland)* and a candle to the session.

*For this, you might like to gather some wild flowers from your neighbourhood or garden (if you have any) along with any green flora or simply purchase a small bunch of seasonal flowers. Even some daisies or leaves from trees will work for this, whatever you can find easily.

Neuro Scribbly: Welcome to the Unmasked Pages

Sunday 24th May 2026 | 4-6pm (£25)

A writing for wellbeing space for the neurodivergent community, and open to all.

Spend two hours engaging in gentle writing prompts and journalling activities. I’ll also share a poem, piece of writing or image/photography in each session for us to explore.

The format:

  • The first hour includes a short introduction, a warm-up writing prompt, and a shared poem. We’ll explore our emotional responses to it rather than literary analysis.
  • After a short 5-minute break, the final 55 minutes will offer a range of journalling prompts, with space to write, reflect, and (if you wish) share and explore what’s arisen.

I’m hoping this will become a monthly group. This first session is a chance to begin and see what unfolds.

Two free spaces are available for unwaged individuals. Please email for details.

Come as you are…

• Keep your camera off if that feels more comfortable
• No expectation to share anything you write
• You’re free to step away or leave early if needed (prompts can be sent after)
